CURRENTLY AVAILABLE POSITION(S)
Interior Designer or Design Technologist
Full-Time | In-Office | Calgary, Alberta
SALARY - Competitive compensation commensurate with experience and capability, with group benefits, Health Spending Account program, paid vacation with progressive accrual, and long-term growth opportunities.Position Overview
Studio Ridge is seeking a technically capable, design-oriented Junior-to-Intermediate level Interior Designer or Design Technologist to join our Calgary studio in a full-time, in-office role.
This opportunity is suited to someone with approximately 3–5 years of North American residential interior design experience who values disciplined execution as much as creative thinking. The right candidate will bring a strong technical foundation, current CAD proficiency, a refined design sensibility, and the ability to contribute consistently across multiple project phases.
This position offers meaningful involvement in every phase of a project. This role requires both design thinking and execution. Responsibilities will include CAD-based technical drawing packages, detailing, finish sourcing and coordination, furniture sourcing support, presentations, site coordination, installations, and project documentation.
You should be equally comfortable refining elevations and millwork details as discussing proportion, layering, and materiality. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, composed under pressure, and capable of balancing creative thinking with disciplined execution.
Some of the large-scale projects we undertake require endurance, adaptability, tenacity, and drive. The work can be demanding, but highly rewarding for those who take pride in seeing exceptional projects realized successfully over time.

Our Interview & Onboarding Approach
At Studio Ridge, we believe building the right team is just as important as delivering exceptional design work. For that reason, our hiring process is intentionally thoughtful and measured, allowing both the candidate and our team to properly evaluate long-term fit.
We view hiring as the beginning of a professional relationship that we hope will grow over many years. Rather than rushing decisions, we invest time upfront to ensure there is alignment around expectations, working style, values, and career objectives.
Our process typically includes up to four touchpoints prior to an offer being made:
- An initial exploratory video conversation
- An in-person meeting with ownership and senior team members
- Meetings with the colleagues you would work most closely alongside
- A casual team lunch to provide broader exposure to the studio environment
This approach allows both parties to gain a well-rounded understanding of the role, the team, and the day-to-day realities of working together.
By investing time at the beginning of the process, we aim to create a strong foundation for trust, collaboration, accountability, and long-term success—for both you and Studio Ridge.

At Studio Ridge, we value professionalism, humility, reliability, accountability, and work ethic as highly as technical ability.
We are intentionally building a studio culture grounded in high standards, thoughtful design, technical rigor, stewardship, and long-term growth.
